Hi,

i trie to use my new usb-serial converter for a serial connect
(9600/8N1) with minicom to service a SUN-Server over the ttya port.
First it seems, that i got no connect, but lsmod shows me, that the
modules usbserial and mct_u232 are loaded. After reading this
mailing-list and a short look in the code, i decided to compile the
module with enabling the FIX_WRITE_RETURN_CODE_PROBLEM.
Now i get some output, when i connect my cable with the SUN and then
turn it on. But if the machine is already running there is nothing on my
screen and i must be very lucky with "send break" or "initialize modem"
to get some ascii on my screen. Also i found no way to load the module
with an option to configure the serial port for my needed settings.

Maybe there is somebody who can help me.

here are all interesting details for my hardware:

I´m running RedHat 7.1 with kernel 2.4.2-2

The Converter is reported as follows:

Magic Control Technology USB-RS232 converter
vendor/prod 0x711/0x210
