Hi there! I got one of the new Sony FD92 cameras. Unlike the previous
Mavicas, this one has both a floppy drive and a memory card reader built
in. It's also got a USB port, which I decided to see if Linux could talk
with.
According to its device numbers reported, it seems to be reporting itself
as the same kind of device as a "DSC-S30/S70/505V/F505" (according to
/usr/src/linux-2.4.5-ac9/drivers/usb/storage/unusual_devs.h). However,
the USB storage module doesn't get loaded automatically, loading it
manually doesn't let it see the camera, and the SCSI system doesn't get a
new device on it.
I'll include the output from /proc/bus/usb/devices as well as what I see
in "dmesg" when I attach the camera to the USB connector, in the hopes
that someone can tell me if it's user error, or what I can do to see the
camera on my Linux system. If I failed to provide any needed info, please
let me know and I'll do what I can!
Thanks!
Tim
