I have the same board, kernel 2.4.3 was the last kernel that worked with my
USB system, I have tried to find what the change was that broke it, thought I
can't seem to find it. The last kernel I tested was 2.4.6-pre3 (I think), so
the latest preview release might give you better luck.
My sudgestion is try kernel 2.4.3
