I've searched for information on using a BUSlink external USB HD with
Linux (Debian in my case) and have only found a page about someone
making a device driver of his own that's under development.

I wonder, has development perchance come a little farther than what I
have found so far?

I'm currently running Linux 2.2.19 but can easily switch to 2.4.8. I
need this information to see if I should go ahead and purchase said HD
or if I should try for something else (Iomega ZIP 250 USB is a
possibility, but definitely less attractive than 80GB :-)). If there
are other possibilities that I haven't seen yet, please inform me
(and, eh, "run Windows" is not the right answer :-)).
