Hi folks! I'm in trouble with my printer: My DeskJet930c will not work via USB on my G3 running LinuxPPC Q4. I have done the following steps. First i mount the usb filesystem permanent. Now my system knows "/proc/bus/usb". I put the content from the file "device" found in this directory below.
With "mknod /dev/usb/lp0 c 180 0" i make a new device entry. After all, i setup CUPS. But nothing works. I test the new device with "cat text >/dev/usb/lp0". The result is an error "No such device". It looks like a device file that is nothing more than a hole. I don't know whats wrong .. Any suggestions, tips or hints ? Regards, Jofry -- >>> output /proc/bus/usb/devices T: Bus=01 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#= 1 Spd=12 MxCh= 2 B: Alloc= 0/900 us ( 0%), #Int= 0, #Iso= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=0000 ProdID=0000 Rev= 0.00 S: Product=USB OHCI Root Hub S: SerialNumber=dd021000 C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=40 MxPwr= 0mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.)
