Yep, I'm sure alright. The USB fun was not out when I bought this,
(some 8 months ago at least I think). I've looked at the Suse site,
(thank you for the link), and it is identical even down to the colour of
the box.

So I guess this would be a bug report. I will start learning how to fix
it. I guess somewhere there will be a file or some source that has a
list of product codes that are supported and 5cc/2265/100 must not be in
it. The readme for this driver in the kernel, (acm.txt), says this
modem is supported, but it also says you should get lines like

I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=02(comm.) Sub=02 Prot=01 Driver=acm

and

I: If#= 1 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=0a(data ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=acm

in /proc/bus/usb/devices, and goes on to say

"The presence of these three lines (and the Cls= 'comm' and 'data'
classes) is important, it means it's an ACM device. The Driver=acm means
the acm driver is used for the device. If you see only Cls=ff(vend.)
then you're out of luck, you have a device with vendor
specific-interface."

Here is mine

Notice the Driver=(none) section.

If anyone has any thoughts... I have found a lot of mixed posts with as
many people not having this work as not.
