I'm running an OV511 based webcam which is workind fine except for the
following problem. Periodically, for no apparant reason, the camera
disconnects causing the following errors in the messages file...

Oct 8 10:04:06 lyximer kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 6
Oct 8 10:04:08 lyximer kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned
device number 7
Oct 8 10:04:08 lyximer kernel: ov511.c: USB OV511+ camera found
Oct 8 10:04:08 lyximer kernel: ov511.c: camera: Puretek PT-6007
Oct 8 10:04:08 lyximer kernel: ov511.c: Sensor is an OV7610
Oct 8 10:05:38 lyximer kernel: hub.c: already running port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?),
re-enabling...
Oct 8 10:05:38 lyximer kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 7
Oct 8 10:05:38 lyximer kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned
device number 8
Oct 8 10:05:38 lyximer kernel: ov511.c: USB OV511+ camera found
Oct 8 10:05:38 lyximer kernel: ov511.c: camera: Puretek PT-6007
Oct 8 10:05:38 lyximer kernel: ov511.c: Sensor is an OV7610

The camera is then redected and works again (until the next time) without
problems. This behaviour is the same on both ports 1 and 2 with or without
an additional USB hub or other devices attatched.

Anyone else experienced this problem or care to shed a little light on the
subject. I'm using the camera in conjunction with the
"motion" software.. although the problem appears the same even just using
vidcat (looped by a shell script to capture the image every second).

Thanks again,

Yours,
Ross McKillop
