Hi, I'm new to usb linux, and I having a bit of trouble getting my new digital camera working. I'm using redhat 7.2 with a 2.4.7-10smp kernel. It is configured for usb support. The camera I have is a Sony DCS-P30/P50. In the device list associated with linux-usb.org, it is listed as partially supported. When I type "mount -t usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb /mnt/camera/", I get no errors and the device seems to mount. However, when I "cd /mnt/camera" and "ls -l", all I get is ....
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Dec 7 03:15 devices -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Dec 7 03:15 drivers The camera has a full load of images, but I am not able to read them. Clearly something is wrong, but I don't know what. My best guess at the moment is that it has something to do with usbdevfs. When I type "/etc/hotplug/usb.rc status", I get the following ********** USB Status for kernel: Linux 2.4.7-10smp i686 USB-devfs is unavailable. USB module is loaded. If khubd is running, that shows USB is available. khubd/hotplug thread: F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI ADDR SZ WCHAN TTY TIME CMD 040 S 0 1284 1 0 69 0 - 0 end pts/1 00:00:00 khubd Module Size Used by usbcore 54528 1 3c59x 26944 1 ext3 67728 3 jbd 44480 3 [ext3] aic7xxx 114704 0 (unused) sd_mod 11584 0 (unused) scsi_mod 98512 2 [aic7xxx sd_mod] ************* Does this sound like a problem that is familar to anyone? I am primarily interested in just reading the photos from the camera. -many thanks Mark -- http://www2.psych.cornell.edu/andrews/ _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
