I have a Sony MSAC-US1 memory stick reader which seems to be working just
find with Redhat 7.1 and kernel 2.4.9. However, I'm also trying to get it
working on a MIPS machine running 2.4.4.

On the Mips machine, I load scsi_mod.o, sd_mod.o, and usb-storage.o by hand,
then when I connect the device I get 'unkown partition table'. I'm guessing
that the problem can come from either the older kernel version, byte ordering
problems with one of the drivers involved, or something unusual about the
build on the Mips machine (which is not a standard distribution).

Other people have gotten USB CD-Roms to work on this machine, but nobody has
tried to get any form of card reader working before.

Can anyone offer any advice? Does this sound familiar somehow?

  Thanks for any help.
