I just purchased my first USB device, a HP Photosmart 612 Digital Camera, and I am trying to access it from my Linux 2.4.17 based system. I've tried using the information and commands found at this link (http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=903), and I have yet to be successful. I've done a bunch of WWW surfing, and I can't figure out what to try next. I would appreciate any help or lines of investigation I should try. This is my first time using USB, and I am not sure I have my kernel configured correctly.
Here are some details about my machine: ABIT Motherboard Pentium III 700 MHz > 512MB RAM Here is my syslog for the times when I was experimenting with the USB port.
