Thanks Steve... But yes I have... A few times even to make sure I was not missing something (really) simple. While there _IS_ a 'patch' in the README file, it is listed as:
* You may want to update the PCI IDs used by the kernel, for better diagnostics. In linux/drivers/pci, apply this patch (and probably copy the resulting file to /usr/share/pci.ids for "lspci"). (This has been submitted a few times, but so far hasn't been merged. Maybe submitting it to http://pciids.sourceforge.net will finally get results.) Stephen J.
