It turned out that there were some hardware problems. Anyway, after testing on a new machine I got the USB-device to work. Now, when I insert my mouse I get the error "usb.c: USB device not accepting new address...". I searched and found many mails from people with this problem, but I did not find a answer. I read at http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/install.html that some of the reasons could be: obnoxious USB controllers (the most common problem) power overcurrent condition (= too many devices attached) poor cabling faulty HUBs Well, the hardware should work and Im pretty sure its not a cable problem. My next mission is to identify the actual problem. It is o.k. for me if the USB will never work, as long as I know why :-). Anyone with an idea how to track down the problem?
