Hi,

I have just found this list, but can not seem to find any talk of Netgear
in the list archive.

I have just picked up a Netgear MA101 Wireless USB Adaptor and needless to
say whilst the kernel sees it no driver claims it.

I have had a good time trying to get all the present drivers in 2.4.17 to
work with it, but no luck (tho the pegasus one did find the device it
would not talk to it)

I am not sure how to proceed from here. I have looked at the code in
/usr/src/linux/drivers/usb/pegasus.c and with a load of time, tons of
help and a following wind might just be able to understand what is going
on (I have never investigated anything this low level before; Yikes, it
complex!)

I have mailed Netgear asking about Linux support or availablility of tech
info about the device, but since I have not heard anything yet I have no
great expectations of them being forthcoming.

This is the info I have seen go past as the system boots:

usb.c: USB Device 2 (vend/prod 0x864/0x4100) is not claimed by any active
driver  Length  = 18
  DescriptorType = 01
  USB Version = 1.10
  Vendor:Product = 0864:4100
  MaxPacketSize0 = 8
  NumConfigurations = 1
  Device Version = 1.00
  Device Class:SubClass:Protocol = fe:01:00
    unknown class
 Configuration:
  bLength = 9
  bDesciptorType = 02
  wTotalLength = 0019
  bNumInterfaces = 01
  bConfigureationValue = 01
  iConfiguration = 00
  bmAttributes = 80
  MaxPower = 500mA

 Interface 0:
 Alternate Steeing: 0
  bLength = 9
  bDesctiporType = 04
  bInterfaceNumber = 00
  bAlternateSetting = 00
  bNumEndPoints = 00
  bInterface Class:SubClass:Protocol = fe:01:00
  iInterface = 00

>From a quick look at /usr/src/linux/drivers/usb/pegasus.h I guess that
this is the first time the vendor code 0x864 or the product ID 0x4100 have
been seen, or have I missed something ?

All advice welcome.
