Hello,

Hardware, etc.:

IOGear Miniview III (GCS1712) 2-port USB KVM
MS Natural Keyboard Pro (USB)
MS Intellimouse Explorer (USB)
Red Hat 7.2
Rawhide's 2.4.17 kernel

When the keyboard and mouse are plugged directly into the computer, everything
works fine (as it has for a while now).

But when I connect the KVM and then the keyboard and mouse through the KVM,
the kernel messages indicate that a mouse and keyboard have been recognized
(which I presume are the mouse and keyboard that the KVM acts like) but I
never see the actual mouse and keyboard registered. The mouse and keyboard
LEDs light up, but there is no discernible reaction on the computer.

In /var/log/messages, I see lots of interrupts registering, about every few
seconds.

Finally, I know of at least two other people with similar problems. Please
refer to:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&threadm=3c71d28b%240%2487608%2445beb828%40newscene.com&rnum=1

and this mailing list about a month ago:

http://www.geocrawler.com/archives/3/4563/2002/1/0/7695482/

While both of these other cases are on IOGear MiniView II KVMs, the problem
seems to be continuing with the version III.

I'll be more than happy to provide any and all information that a developer
might need to help with this. The KVM is quite a nice piece of hardware, and
even lists Linux on the box as supported, and I'd like to help make that more
true than it seems right now.

Thanks in advance for any help on this. (Also, if I happened to miss the "fix"
for this, I apologize. I have been on the list for a while, but miss a lot of
messages because of time constraints. Oh, and GeoCrawler bites for searching
sometimes. :^| )

Regards,
matt
