I read The Linux USB Subsystem secion on cameras and mass storage devices.
I have found nothing that I beleive to be applicable in the FAQs on usb.org. I am not a newbie to Linux, but I am to USB and USB on Linux. The camera works as a mass storage device in a VMWare win 2k pro session on the same computer, but I don't want to settle for that as an option and would prefer to do away with anything win. :-) In fact, this is the first time I have ever installed a windows product of any kind on any of my personal systems, and the only reason I have done so is to get the pics out of my camera.
