hey,  well i finally got my usb to work all i had to do was replace one
of the harddrives.  i had some sort of harddrive failure last week and i
replaced the fujitsu 6gb drive with an IBM 60gb drive and now my usb is
working perfectly. very strange.  it was an irq routing issue  my guess
is that the kernel didnt like having an ata100 and ata66 hard drive on
the same ide channel which caused the irq routing problem.  now that
there are 2 ata100 drives on the channel it is all good.
