USB in RH 7.2 works fine on most computers. Run usbview - if it works then USB is fine. The problem is in the scanner. See here: http://home.zonnet.nl/bertrik/hp3300c/hp3300c.htm http://sourceforge.net/projects/hp3300backend I played with HP 3300 in October. After a few hours lost I gave up, returned it and bought refurbrished Epson Perfection 610 ($35 + S&H) which works very well. General hint is that before you buy any hardware - check its compatibility with Linux: search through google, for USB good places are: http://www.linux-usb.org/ http://www.qbik.ch and links from there. It is worth even if you use mostly Windows, main reasons is that spec of the devicve is known. The power it gives you is certainly worth even few extra bucks. BR, Jacek P.S. I assumed you are complete newbie who at the moment does not have necessary skills to write/fix the driver himself. _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
