And Prolific evidently doesn't like to help its customers figure out problems, so that may not get fixed. It does seem clear that they've modified their silicon without changing USB descriptors, which is usually not a sign of a vendor with a good handle on change control issues for products. (Or maybe that's the fault of whoever manufactured your Prolific-based cable. Hard to know.) > Incidentally, the packet loss percentage is actually rather hight > (70 - 80%). Is that normal in USB-to-USB networks? No. I don't have GeneSys hardware (that support was sent to me and then by folk who do have it), but even using the Prolific hardware (when it works!) I normally don't see any significant packet loss. Do you get messages from the driver saying why it's dropping anything? - Dave _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
