Hello,

I gave some Problem with my usb configuration here.

I loaded usbcore.o and mounted the usbdevfs.
I loaded the usb-ohci module and got this in the logs:

kernel: usb-ohci.c: USB OHCI at membase 0xe28bc000, IRQ 11
kernel: usb-ohci.c: usb-02:00.0, Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] AMD-768
[??] USB
kernel: usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
kernel: hub.c: USB hub found
kernel: hub.c: 4 ports detected

and this in /proc/usb/devices:

T: Bus=01 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#= 1 Spd=12 MxCh= 4
B: Alloc= 0/900 us ( 0%), #Int= 0, #Iso= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0000 ProdID=0000 Rev= 0.00
S: Product=USB OHCI Root Hub
S: SerialNumber=e28bc000
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=40 MxPwr= 0mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 2 Ivl=255ms

When my printer is connected I also get this in the logs:

kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number
2
kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number
3
kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout

And no extra entries in /proc/usb/devices. I loaded printer.o but it
didn't change anything. I tried both ports, two different devices and
two cables but nothing helps. Am I overlooking something? What else can
I try?

Kernel is 2.4.18, 2.5.18 was worse.
Its on a Gigabyte SMP mobo with an amd768 [opus] usb on it.

Regards
  Alexander
