I found that it didn't work for me on all of the hardware I was hoping to use it with - e.g. HP ProCurve switches, but they seem to be very picky about who they'll talk to. However, I do have it working with 3com and Cisco switches, Cisco routers and Sun servers. If you haven't given up completely by now, drop me a line and perhaps we can work through it...
