hi stephen, I don't know exactly, which more information you are meaning, but I have tried out something as I've found in th efaq of usb, as there are :
the dir /dev/usb/lp0 exists, rights are : rw-rw---- the entry in /etc/fstab as : none /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0 exists; in /etc/printcap the entry /dev/usb/lp0 is also there. now I was trying to run a "tail -f /var/log/messages" and have done a reconnectiopn from Connect-1 to Connect-2 so the kernel shows activities like the following : hanna kernel : hub.c : USB device new device connect on bus 1/1, assigned device number 4 hanna kernel : hub.c : USB device not accepting new device=4 [error=-110] now the next free connector 2 : hanna kernel : hub.c : USB device new device connect on bus 1/1, assigned device number 5 hanna kernel : hub.c : USB device not accepting new device=5 [error=-110] hope this is a little bit more of informations and also hoping, they are usefull. bye hans ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Two, two, TWO treats in one. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
