I'm having problems getting my Olympys C-220 digicam to work with Linux. I'ts
correctly detected as usb-storage, but it fails to register as scsi device:

Kernel version is 2..4.18 (suse 8.0 default), also tried with vanilla
2.4.19-rc1 on another computer, with same results.
After connecting the camera, I'm able to unload usb-storage once but reloading
it hangs the modprobe process (lsmod shows that usb-storage is in
initializing state). I'm also using logitech optical wheel usb mouse and it
works correctly. I verified that the camera is detected and works correctly
as removable storage in windows xp on the same computer. Searching the
mailinglist archives resulted finding few people with same problem but no
