Matt et al: Just to make sure I understand things correctly, let me summarize what I think was the final conclusions this thread.
---------------------- If you want to use a USB device that is accessed through the mass storage driver, and the size of the media may change, you must manually mount the device (mount /dev/sda) and eject when finished (eject /dev/sda). You cannot use autofs with these devices. The reason autofs cannot be used is because it performs the functional equivalent of mount/umount, but not the "eject". ---------------------- Is this correct? Am I missing anything? If so, can people make suggestions, then maybe the above text with modifications can go as an entry in http://www.linux-usb.org/FAQ.html. -- -**-*-*---*-*---*-*---*-----*-*-----*---*-*---*-----*-----*-*-----*--- Jon Lapham Extracta Molculas Naturais, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] web: http://www.extracta.com.br/ ***-*--*----*-------*------------*--------------------*--------------- ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
