Greetings,
This is problem in an unknown area, so I posted it to 3 groups, parden
any duplicate messages...
I am having a baffling problem with some of my devices. I have 4
ActiveWire cards, and I have a program to download the software to them
one by one. However, I am getting a strange error. I will try to
explain it the best I can.
If I have 1 or 2 cards plugged in, it will download the firmware to both
sequentially, and with no errors.
If I download the firmware to 1 at a time, by plugging one in,
downloading, and then repeating the process for the rest, I can get up
to two cards no problem.
When I plug ion a third card, it cannot download the firmware, as it
gets connection timeouts or errors setting the configuration or claiming
interfaces (seemingly randomly, but mostly timeouts). As soon as I
unplug card 2, the "third" card downloads fine.
It is as if it can only handle 2 cards at a time, and when it has 3, it
just fails.
Now this is strange, if I have 3 cards plugged in to start, it will not
download the first two and bail on the third, it bails on all three, and
when I unplug one, it can download to the remaining 2 just fine....
I know this sounds confusing, but the bottom line is that I am
completely baffled by this. Any ideas?
The download code I am using is at http://www.shizdiggity.com/awusb/ in
the tar file, but I don't think it is on my end, unless I am using the
usb_open, set_configuration, claim_interface, set_altinterface, and
close wrong... It is just weird that it wont go past 2, and when I have
only 2 it is fine no matter how I plug in the devices.
