{sigh} yes this problem is known, and fixed (hopefully) in the 2.5
kernel tree. Could you test the 2.5.31 kernel to verify this?
Soon I will backport the 2.5 changes into the 2.4 tree (waiting for
2.4.20-pre2 to come out before sending on more USB changes...)
