The "Argus 3200" cameras seem to be on sale cheap these days, so I
picked one up (I figure if I can't get it working directly, I'll just
buy a compactflash reader, so one way or another I should be able to get
it working.)

I BELIEVE the Vivitar DSC350 is the same 'guts' in a different package, but
I'm not sure.

The camera presents itself as a "mass-storage device" but the usb drivers
seem to have trouble talking to it.  Upon plugging it in, the USB
subsystem detects it and recognizes it as a mass-storage device, but seems
to be hitting errors trying to talk to it (linux 2.4.19), and it's never
set up as a SCSI device that I can contact.

Any hints what I might to do help get this (these) working directly?
(If I did the search correctly, it looks like vendorid 0636 is "Sierra
Imaging", if that helps...)
