Dear Lists, I have 2 machines up on SuSE 8.1 kernel 2.4.19SMP. They both can see and mount a USB 1 Mass Storage Device; read & write work properly.
This never worked on SuSE 8.0 Bravo SuSE! One of my systems has a Gensys Host to Host USB Bridge chip. I have used that sys to hook up the two machines,USB to USB. As per the USB FAQ I entered "ifconfig usb0 192.168.0.1 pointopoint 192.168.0.2" on the first PC and on the second PC I entered "ifconfig usb0 192.168.0.2 pointopoint 192.168.0.1" . Now I can ping both ways and 'ifconfig usb0' on either PC shows the proper setup has been achieved. So I am very impressed! My heartiest congratulations to all the USB and SuSE developers. Thank you for your hard work. PeterB p.s. Yes the right word is "pointopoint" not "pointtopoint -- Proud to be a SuSE Linux User since 5.2 -- ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: Influence the future of Java(TM) technology.
