Hi folks,

This is not _really_ related to the kernel, but more the userspace. I
know some folks have been grepping a bit for userland apps on linux
using the Griffin Powermate. I threw together a quick xmms plugin for
this device in hopes that some interest may eventually turn the core
code originally written by William R. Sowerbutts into a more usable
independent library. If you like, or I am simply outta line, give me a
shout!

mate-0.0.2.tgz

I also made some slight modifications to get the driver to build on
2.4.19. It can be found here:

20020930-2.4.19.patch.gz

For me, and some other folks, this amounts to safer User IO with some of
our other projects.
