The reasons for this are (a) ACPI is replacing system config
definition that was done by the MPS tables and (b) MPS 1.4
doesn't seem to offer Linux any advantages over MPS 1.1.

There are some parts of MPS 1.4 that Linux supports, but there
must be something there that's causing Linux problem(s), but
I don't see what it is in the spec or in the Linux code.
