Hi everyone,

I have spend quite a while now but can't get my
usb host-to-host cable (Prolific PL-2301/PL-2302)
working properly.

What I do is connect my laptop to a normal PC
which is connected to a firewall. The firewall is connected
to the internet. The idea is to have internet access
on the laptop, too.

All computers run on debian woody.

First Plusb: (tested with kernel 2.2.20 and 2.2.21)
It connects, and after setting routes I can ping from
all to all machines and have internet. When a larger
package is routed or after ca. 2-4MB are transfered
the connection stalls and my normal desktop PC
kernel segfaults:

plusb.c: plusb0: plusb_lk_complete: returned status_104
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at
   virtual address 00000008
                                etc.

Usbnet: (tested with 2.4.16, 2.4.18, 2.4.19)
The problem here is that the driver doesn't seem to
work for my PC. Running tcpdump on the PC
and pinging from the laptop gives results, the
opposite not. So somewhat the packages don't
get out.
(Under windows it worked)

So I think the problem is with my PC running
Debian woody on a 1GHz Athlon, with VIA
chipset.

I would be very glad to get some help.
Thank you
Nikolai.
