Can any kind person tell me how to get the hotplugging and correct
shutdown to work with the famous Alcatel USB SpeedTouch ADSL modem?
I can manually make it dial (first time only), and manually kill
(killall pppd & run_modem), where it never works again until unplugged
and plugged back in.
Can anybody please tell me how to correctly stop the ADSL so that it
does start again??
More importantly, I cannot get the hotplug to work. The System Log
reports ' No driver claims device ' (or somethning similar, I haven't
got it in front of me here.)
I have the correct script in /etc/hotplug/usb/speedtouch and the correct
entry in usb.usermap. By putting many debugs in the usb.agent script,
it seems to be passed the correct variables. Then the kernel (somehow)
rejects it, and it goes no further.
As I say, if anybody can tell me, I would probably be happy for ever more.
Ben
