Hm, using "lspci -vv" I see
| 00:0c.0 USB Controller: OPTi Inc. 82C861 (rev 10) (prog-if 10 [OHCI])

here and usb-ohci works here - well at least with most of my usb hardware.
The support for some is broken since 2.4.10 on my msi board, and using
the above card instead of the built-in via uhci didn't help much.
