This is an unacceptable approach. You have to run "make oldconfig" to see what 
changed.

There is a new option under HID support called HID Input support, which you 
should read the help option for, and probably enable.

When Greg asked for your ".config", you should have provided an extract of the 
file, not tried to provide a summary, as you have done.
