I've tried 2.4.21-pre1 and 2.5.40...

Yes, I've tried "uugetty" and another program for voice modem access
called "vmcp".
Each program has the same result.... system lock-up.
I have no problems using a dial-out only program like "cu" or "ecu".
This sure is frustrating.
