I'll be interested in reports (sucesss or failure) from folk
trying this significant ehci-hcd patch, which seems to fix a
number of problems that have been reporte recently:

I find that Intel issue suggestive:  people haven't been doing
enough testing of this driver on 2.5, or even on 2.4 since it's
been so painful to get the updates into Marcelo's tree.

So:  particularly if you've been having problems, but even if you
haven't, please give this patch a try; and report any problems so
that they can be resolved.  (I'm not subscribed to linux-usb-users
though, so followups here won't help much.)
