Did you try the two suggestions in the FAQ regarding setting max_luns in
/etc/modules.conf and echoing to /proc/scsi:

(1) options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=2
(number should be n more than the number of SCSI devices you already
have)

(2) echo >/proc/scsi/scsi "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 1"
