Did you read the document which tells you what information might be useful?
Did you look in the archives?  I've seen at least one person using a SDDR-73
which might shed some light, see below.

Both cards now read and writeable.

How? Not sure - one or a combination of the following - added the line

options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=2

to the file /etc/modules.conf, then rebooted with an sd card and a 
compactflash card in the reader. During the boot i got a config dialog (which 
had happened before), this time with sensible choices available.
