It didn't specifically mention mine, but I suppose anything's possible. 
My machine is about 2 years old, and the bus runs at 200 Mhz.  The MB is
an Abit.

I knew that one :)--it's just that I haven't really used my old machine
since I put my current one in service, so I don't even remember what
distribution I have on it.  I suspect it's running a 2.2.x kernel that I
compiled on a heavily patched Mandrake something (7.x??), which would
make USB troubleshooting harder.  Plus, the machine is 5 years old...
