I compiled pegasus.c with some modified lines for my
USB/Ethernet-Adapter (Netgear FA101) with
sources fitting to kernel 2.2.23. (just the manufacturer id's...)

First everything seemed to work fine.
But then I got once a “tx -110" error an more frequently: “intr status
-84”
In the end the "-84" error "causes" a complete freeze of the computer
which only can
Be solved by a "hard" reboot.
So the PC freezes after some megabytes of traffic more or less.

I found some old articles/mails in some mailinglists from the year
2000/2001.
It seems to be an error of the "good old days" ;-)

My question:
Is it possible to compile a newer Pegasus.c/Pegasus.h for a 2.2.23
kernel
And where would I get these sources ? (or will the 2.4.xx sources work
?)
(I don't know when this problem was solved and which version can be
compiled for "old" kernels)

Compiling and installing a new kernel is not a solution on this system.

Thanks in advance,
René
