There is no standard input or output that are user visable, and you are running as root. There are also very few environment variables available to the program, including a limited PATH.

I have probably have all the information I need in front of me but I can't make sense of it. I have tried invoking the application indirectly and it's still isn't terminating right. I just don't know enough about how to figure out why or where it is hanging. I have discovered other circumstances where will hang (i.e. spawned from Python in a system call) but I got to say, this is pretty darn weird.
