I have a Casio digital camera that according to most documentation I can find should work witht he usb mass storage driver (usb-storage) - its a Casio Exilim.

I have loaded all the SCSI, SCSI disk, USB, USB-storage drivers that are necessary according to the docs I found on people who have used my camera (or similar) with linux - but the none o fthe drivers attach to the camera when it's attached. Instead I get:

hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 8
usb.c: USB device 8 (vend/prod 0x7cf/0x1001) is not claimed by any active driver.

I have the following modules loaded:

usb-storage 23564 0 (unused)
sd_mod 10924 0 (unused)
usbserial 16380 0 (unused)
ide-scsi 7344 0
sr_mod 12784 0 (unused)
sg 24220 0 (unused)
scsi_mod 50492 4 [usb-storage sd_mod ide-scsi sr_mod sg]
ide-cd 26756 0
vfat 9276 0
fat 29080 0 [vfat]
uhci 23728 0 (unused)
usbcore 54912 1 [usb-storage usbserial uhci]

and I'm running an custom 2.4.19 kernel.

Anyone have any idea how to get usb-storage to attach to the camera?
