Hello,

I own a Sony Clie NX-70V PalmOS 5-based handheld. This Clie has a
slot for a memory stick and comes with an application called "MS
Import" that makes the Clie appear as a regular USB storage device to
a host computer. This function is working fine on MacOS X, where I
can access my Clie as a regular VFAT drive. Earlier Clies work with
the Linux USB stack [1].

However, I cannot make mine work. When I try to mount /dev/sda1, or
even cat /dev/sda, I get an I/O error. The kernel logs the following
messages for this transaction:

Mar 15 23:55:15 christoph kernel: hub.c: new USB device 10:18.0-1, assigned address 5
Mar 15 23:55:15 christoph kernel: WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured
Mar 15 23:55:15 christoph kernel: USB Mass Storage device found at 5
Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: SCSI device (ioctl) reports ILLEGAL REQUEST.
Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: SCSI device sda: 253696 512-byte hdwr sectors (130
MB)
Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: sda: Write Protect is off
Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: I/O error: dev

Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: I/O error: dev 08:00, sector 0
Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: unable to read partition table
Mar 15 23:55:22 christoph kernel: I/O error: dev 08:00, sector 0
Mar 15 23:55:29 christoph kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 10:18.0-1 address 5

This behavior is 100% reproducible. Can anyone suggest any things I might
try to solve this?
