Hi, I have post recently the problem with that camera. Some people (THANK YOU ALL) tried to help, but still no progress. So I'll repeat everything, maybe someone else can give me an advice.
So, I'm using RedHat 9, kernel 2.4.20. When I plug the camera: here is the result in /var/log/message: Jun 3 18:23:01 localhost kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.2-1, assigned address 2 Jun 3 18:23:02 localhost kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x4dd/0x7005) is not claimed by any active driver. Jun 3 18:23:06 localhost devlabel: devlabel service started/restarted ------------ This is the output of dmesg: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.2-1, assigned address 2 usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x4dd/0x7005) is not claimed by any active driver. Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured ------------------- This is in /proc/scsi/scsi: [EMAIL PROTECTED] scsi]# cat /proc/scsi/scsi Attached devices: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: ATAPI Model: CD-RW 52X24 Rev: K.GC Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 ??????????? THIS IS STRANGE - there is no camera listed :( ?????? ------------------------ This is [EMAIL PROTECTED] scsi]# cat usb-storage-0/1 Host scsi1: usb-storage Vendor: Unknown Product: Unknown Serial Number: 0549849467 Protocol: 8070i Transport: Control/Bulk GUID: 04dd70050000000549849467 Attached: Yes ????? THE DEVICE IS ATTACHED ????!?!?!?! ------------------------------------------------- I have also installed sg3_utils (there is no version for RedHat, but I found some rpm in rpmfind.net) here is the output from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] scsi]# sg_map /dev/sg0 /dev/scd0 !!!!----------- scd0 seems to be my cd burner [EMAIL PROTECTED] scsi]# sg_scan /dev/sg0: scsi0 channel=0 id=0 lun=0 [em] type=5 So, it seems that it finds only the cd-burner. ------------------------------- It is very strange, why kernel reports that it finds the usb-mass-storrage, but there is no track in proc/scsi system??? Nevertheless I tried different mount's like: [EMAIL PROTECTED] scsi]# mount -t auto /dev/sda /mnt/usb mount: /dev/sda is not a valid block device I received the same for: sda0, sda1, sdb, sdb0, sdb1 .... sdexxxx I tried also -t vfat, -t msdos always the same :( If you need more info, or more things to try .... pease, tell me, I'll try everything :) (without reinstalling :) ) Thanks again to all that have tried to help me and to all of you, which will try to help me in future.
