I am new again to this list, and have looked through the FAQ and archives, but without success.
I have not been able to get this to work in Linux yet, and have let it sit for a while, but would now like to try again, and if possible I would like to help out with the work doing it. Unfortunately I can't afford to donate it. I have tried it a couple of times with 2.5.* kernels, and as of Linux 2.6.0-test2 and cdrtools 2.0 I haven't been able to write on CDR (I haven't tested with CDRW media) and I would like to know if anyone has? If you do, please let me know as browsing both these archives and the web with google hasn't given me any clues. If there are still some problems I would like to know what I can do to help, and coding is possible if I can get some pointers on what to look for. As a start I can collect info if someone would like to look at it? A small question that I would also like to ask is why the drive is recognized as a 8290 and not 8230e? Also perhaps a good opening issue to resolve, is it a USB, Kernel, IDE-SCSI or cdrtools problem or a combination of all?
