I have problems with bringing a Philips PCVC720K/00 webcam to work.

I'm not sure this is the right place for this, but here it goes:

I have a new, fresh and clean install of RH9 with kernel 2.4.20 and installed the latest 0v511 driver: 2.25.
During boot of RH9, following happens, no problem as far as I can see.
All modules seem to be there:

I have no 'Enforce Bandwidth Allocation' in the kernel and I have the entry in
the fstab for usvdevfs, although the boot messages tell that the usbdevfs is
already loaded.

But then, starting an video app (xawtv):

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# xawtv
This is xawtv-3.81, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.20-8)
can't open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l: open /dev/video0: No such device
no video grabber device available

I checked permissions on /dev/video0, the're ok (but I'm root anyway).

The proc devices seem to be ok:

Even the led on the PCVC720K/00 is on!

Now, I also tried this on a RH8 install with kernel 2.4.20, where I make'd the ov511 2.25 driver. Same result, everything seems to be ok, except no 'video stream'

At some point I must be missing something.
Is there anyone who can help me out here?

Oh, BTW, please reply to my hotmail account, since I'm not on this list.

Thanks,

Ray
