Hi,

   Just to let you know,

I've setup a Microtek V6 USL - USB Scanner under Linux Redhat 7.3.

1) I installed the following packeges from Redhat 7.3 CDRoms :
sane-backends-devel-1.0.7-6
sane-frontends-1.0.7-2
xsane-0.84-2
sane-backends-1.0.7-6

2) I downloaded "usbmgr-0.4.8-1.i386.rpm" from the folowing link
http://www.dotaster.com/[..]mgr/0.4.8/redhat/usbmgr-0.4.8-1.i386.rpm

3) After starting the usbmgr:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/usbmgr start.

4) I inserted the microtek module:

modprobe microtek
ln -s /dev/sg0 /dev/scanner
chmod 666 /dev/sg0 /dev/sga /dev/scanner

That's it.

I use xsane and my scanner and xsane both are working properly.
