Hello again,...
Now I'm experiencing even mor problems with my USB System... 1. It doesn't respond to any device connected after boot time (That means, my USB Printer doesn't work, if it isn't switched on during boot up) 2. Sometimes my stick works if I connect it before booting up the system and sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't work if I reboot my system. However, if it works and I shut down my system (or unload the uhci module) I get some I/O errors and a Failed to READ_CAPACITY message. 3. If my stick is connected during boot time when doing a reboot, it takes my motherboard really long to boot up. The Asus P4P800 board shows it's boot-up screen much longer than usually and reacts very slowly in the beginning. 4. HotPlug needs a long time during boot up to check - whatever. If there's something connected or not. So, do I have to configure hotplug in any way after installing it? Do I have to install magic-dev again? I replaced the hotplug-binary in /sbin/ with a shellscript that prints out a message when called, just to see if hotplug works - but it isn't called when I plug in a usb device, though hotplug is enabled in the kernel and /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug points to the correct file. So coldplugging works as long as I don't do a reboot and hotplugging doesn't work at all. Any suggestion that could help me? I haven't got a clue what's going on... ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, 16-19 November in Las Vegas.
