Shows that hotplug is selecting usbnet for your device. So somehow the hotplug process is working for you (it doesn't for me). Is usbnet getting installed? That is the module you need. I have read in some of the info posts about blacklisting CDCEther, but never had to myself because its not enabled in my kernel.
