Dear Linux-usb-users,
Hello, i have a usb/ps2 logitech cordless keyboard and mouse
reciever,
running kernel 2.6.0-test11 smp on a A7M266-D Asus motherboard, with 2 amd
athlon 2600 cpu's.
My keyboard works fine on usb under control from the
bios.
When i boot linux and it init the usb the following
error occours for the
keyboard:
Dec 5 19:01:06 [kernel] usb 1-2.6: USB disconnect,
address 7
Dec 5 19:01:09 [kernel] hub 1-2:1.0: new USB device on port 3, assigned
address 9
Dec 5 19:01:10 [kernel] usb 1-2.3: device descriptor read/8, error -110
Dec 5 19:01:10 [kernel] hub 1-2:1.0: new USB device on port 3, assigned
address 10
Dec 5 19:01:10 [kernel] usb 1-2.3: device descriptor read/8, error -110
My usb controller is:
02:00.0 USB Controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] AMD-768 [Opus] USB (rev
07) (prog-if 10 [OHCI])
I also dont use the mouse which comes with the
reciever, i have another
reciever for logitech cordless trackball. The trackball reciever seems to work
perfectly.
The keyboard one doesnt - even though there is nothing
wrong with it since
it works witht the bios.
I tried increasing the USB_CTRL_GET_TIMEOUT in
include/linux/usb.h but it
doesnt seem to help the problem. I also tried increasing some of the timeouts
in drivers/usb/core/usb.c but that didnt seem to achieve anything either.
I also tried disabling the usb in the bios, but after that
linux does not detect any devices attached.
Also i tried not booting with the keyboard usb
attached, and then pugging
in the keyboard once the usb had initialised. Each time i plug in the device
the same error occours (as above) - so i dont think its a question of the
bios not releasing the device.
Do you have any idea for the cause of the problem?
I look forward to your reply,
Kind Regards,
Martin Johnson.
