Hello,
I tried to read a memory stick which is inserted in a Sony video camera. This camera is connected to my computer with a USB cable to my USB 2.0 port. The camera shows up in 'lsusb', but in /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/ I only see 'disk' and 'generic' (host0 is for ide-scsi). So there seem to be no partitions to mount. When unplugging the cable and then replugging it, I get a new host, host2, and host1 also still shows up. I get an extra host every time I replug the cable (but 'disk' and ;general' only exists in the last one created. Using the verbose messaging, I get this in /var/log/messages: Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 2, assigned address 2 Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost kernel: usb 2-2: Product: Sony Handycam Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost kernel: usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Sony Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost kernel: Vendor: Sony Model: Sony DSC Rev: 3.00 Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Dec 25 16:15:56 localhost scsi.agent[3269]: how to add device type= at /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.1/usb2/2-2/2-2:1.0/host1/1:0:0:0 ?? Note that it's a 4MB memorystick, and write-protect is actually on. Any ideas what's wrong?
